The 1930s saw the rise of hand built model racecars, known as spindizzies or tether cars. Its original makers were the famous Dooling Brothers, who manufactured around 1000 units at the time. Miniature race cars built by hobbyists zoomed around banked wooden tracks at speeds approaching 150 miles per hour. This Indianapolis Spindizzy desktop model is there to remind of these days. Made of polished aluminum with rubber tires and a seat made of brown leather. Packed in gift box with black & white checkerboard pattern. This car does not have a running engine it is for display only.
