Map of the World or Mappemonde - America, Europe, Asia, Africa is a jacquard tapestry panel featuring an antique map of the world and a detailed background with scenes from the old world and new. It pictures the world from Magellan times. It is a reproduction of a 17th century maritime chart. The maps are bracketed by exotic scenes of maritime exploration.

Wall tapestry is an ancient form of textile art, traditionally woven on a vertical loom. It is a special procedure which is like weaving and embroidery at the same time. Jacquard woven and fully lined with rod loops on top.
