Neuschwanstein Castle is a German jacquard tapestry. The art is based on a castle build by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The shy king had built the castle in order to be able to withdraw from public life. Today Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe. Every year 1.4 million people visit "the castle of the fairy-tale king".
Wall tapestry is an ancient form of textile art, traditionally woven on a vertical loom. It is a special procedure which is like weaving and embroidery at the same time. Jacquard woven and fully lined with rod loops on top.
